Guide awaiting review

1

Travel to Fishing Location

Head to Kun-Lai Summit, the Coast of Isle of Giants, the Coast of Dread Wastes, or any of Pandaria's ocean (saltwater) areas. One confirmed spot is just outside of Shado-Pan Monastery in Kun-Lai Summit.

2

Equip Fishing Gear

Equip the Ancient Pandaren Fishing Charm before casting, as it has been used by anglers who successfully fished up the Tiny White Carp.

3

Fish Tiger Gourami Schools

Cast into Tiger Gourami schools when available, as the Tiny White Carp can appear as a secondary item in the loot window from these schools. The reported drop rate is approximately 1 in 5,000 casts, so a high number of casts should be expected.

4

Identify the Carp in Loot

When the Tiny White Carp drops, it will appear with white text in your loot window rather than blue, so do not overlook it assuming it is a common item — it only becomes blue quality after you learn the pet.

Tips

  • This is one of four rare carp pets introduced in patch 5.2, alongside Tiny Red Carp, Tiny Blue Carp, and Tiny Green Carp — all are Bind on Pickup and cannot be caged.

  • A failed cast that results in a Golden Carp does not consume a roll on the Tiny White Carp loot table; only successful casts in saltwater bodies of water count toward a chance at the pet.
