Travel to The Forbidden Reach
Head to The Forbidden Reach and locate Wildfire at 7.22, 48.57, where it appears as the objective of the World Quest: Combustible Vegetation. Note that Wildfire is only present when this World Quest is active.
Weaken Wildfire Before Fighting
Before challenging Wildfire, defeat two or three Storm-Touched Skitterers in the small area surrounding it. This reduces Wildfire's quality from Legendary down to Epic, and then to Rare — other players nearby also benefit from this weakening, so coordinate if others are present.
Re-Weaken If Timer Expires
The weakening effect is temporary and will expire, causing Wildfire to return to its previous quality. If this happens, defeat the Storm-Touched Skitterers again to re-apply the weakening before resuming your challenge.
Defeat Wildfire in Rare Form
Once Wildfire is reduced to Rare quality, defeat it to receive 
Fire Storm Essence, which teaches the Wildfire pet. One reliable team is a leveling pet with over 1,000 health, an Unborn Val'kyr, and Ikky (abilities 1,1,1): lead with your leveling pet, swap to Unborn Val'kyr for Haunt and Curse of Doom, then swap to Ikky for Black Claw and Flock.
Alternative Team with Ikky and Hydraling
Ikky alone can defeat all Storm-Touched Skitterers and the Rare version of Wildfire. For a two-pet approach, use Ikky (abilities x,1,1) and Hydraling (abilities 1,2,x): open with Black Claw, use Flock on turns 2–4, then Tail Slap on turn 5, and finish with Swallow You Whole once Wildfire drops below 25% health.
Tips
Ikky with abilities set to x, 1, 1 can solo all Storm-Touched Skitterers and the Rare version of Wildfire without needing additional specialized pets.
