Mechanical Chicken
Quest reward from An OOX of Your Own. Not to worry; the combat mechanisms and homing logic have been disabled on this unit, I think. --Oglethorpe Obnoticus Mechanical type. The mechanical chicken looks just like the wild pet, and shares the same pet abilities.
The
Mechanical Chicken is a Classic-era battle pet rewarded from the quest An OOX of Your Own, obtained by first completing three escort quests across Hinterlands, Tanaris, and Feralas, then turning in the results to Oglethorpe Obnoticus in Booty Bay.
Guide awaiting review
Farm Hinterlands Beacon
Kill trolls just north of the step pyramid in The Hinterlands to get the
OOX-09/HL Distress Beacon. If you are playing Horde, the trolls are fighting dwarf NPCs nearby — kill the dwarves to clear the area.
Complete Hinterlands Escort
Use the OOX-09/HL Distress Beacon to start the quest Find OOX-09/HL!, then escort the mechanical chicken in The Hinterlands to complete it. Pick up the follow-up quest that sends you to Booty Bay but do not go there yet.
Farm Tanaris Beacon
Enter the Zul'Farrak dungeon in Tanaris and kill enemies until the
OOX-17/TN Distress Beacon drops. Use it to start the quest Find OOX-17/TN!, escort the chicken, and pick up the follow-up quest to Booty Bay.
Farm Feralas Beacon
Kill Cave Yetis in Feralas to obtain the
OOX-22/FE Distress Beacon, then start the quest Find OOX-22/FE!, escort the chicken, and pick up the follow-up quest to Booty Bay.
Turn In at Booty Bay
Travel to Booty Bay in The Cape of Stranglethorn and turn in all three follow-up quests to Oglethorpe Obnoticus, which unlocks the final quest An OOX of Your Own — completing it rewards the Mechanical Chicken pet.
Tips
The original quest reward item that teaches the Mechanical Chicken is Bind on Use, so if you already have the pet learned, you can sell that item to other players.
