Jeweled Onyx Whelpling

Loot a Dragon Isles Supply Bag from a Primal Proto-Drake to begin the item quest 'Funding a Treasure Hunt'. This quest reportedly always drops from the first Primal Proto-Drake you encounter at max level if it didn't drop while leveling.

Purchase Archeologist Artifact Notes from Cataloger Jakes to locate your first treasure. This introductory treasure awards your first Onyx Gem Cluster Map for free.

Reach Renown 2, 5, and 16 with the relevant Dragonflight faction to unlock access to additional treasure map tiers. Stock up on Small Expedition Shovel — buy or craft several, as they are consumed when digging up treasure chests scattered across the Dragon Isles.

Once any character on your account reaches Renown 21 with the relevant faction, the 'Jeweled Whelpling Treasure Maps' unlock account-wide. Gem Cluster treasures are guaranteed to drop the Glimmering Neltharite Cluster and the Jewelcrafting Designs needed to craft the pet.

A Jewelcrafter with Skill 50 who has learned the design can craft the pet using 50x Glossy Stone, 1x Glimmering Neltharite Cluster, 2x Elemental Harmony, 2x Neltharite, and 1x Illimited Diamond. If you are not a Jewelcrafter, you can provide all reagents via a crafting work order or purchase the pet from another player on the Auction House.
