The Emperor Crab is a wild pet found in Dread Wastes during the Pandaria expansion, obtainable either as a direct spawn or as a secondary pet in wild battles.

Guide awaiting review

1

Farm Rapana Whelk Battles

Head to The Briny Muck at 37, 61 in Dread Wastes and battle Rapana Whelk. Emperor Crabs can appear as secondary pets during these fights, and Rapana Whelk respawn faster than you can battle them, making this a reliable farming loop.

2

Check the Shelf of Mazu

If you prefer hunting direct spawns, travel to the Shelf of Mazu at 45, 77 near the shipwreck art on the map, where Emperor Crabs have been found.

3

Farm Silent Hedgehog Secondaries

Find Gorespine's area in Dread Wastes, where roughly seven Silent Hedgehogs spawn nearby. Emperor Crabs appear as secondary pets in these battles, and the Hedgehogs respawn continuously, letting you farm rare-quality Emperor Crabs without moving from a single spot.

4

Capture Using Shell Shield

When capturing, use the Emperor Crab's Shell Shield and Renewing Mists abilities together to tank incoming damage and self-heal during battle, keeping your crab alive through long capture attempts.

Tips

  • See the video guide for a visual walkthrough of farming locations and battle strategies.

  • Fighting Rapana Whelk at The Briny Muck exposes you to rare secondary Emperor Crabs while also having low hostile mob density, reducing interruptions between battles.
