Understand the Book Spawns
Each of the eight books spawns at a fixed single location in Dalaran on a timer of 3 to 4 hours. Each location also randomly spawns 2 to 3 non-achievement books, so a book appearing at a location does not guarantee it is the one you need.
Find the Abjuration Book
Look for The Schools of Arcane Magic - Abjuration at 52.2, 55.5 in Dalaran. If you read it, it disappears within 3 minutes; if left unread, it disappears within 5 minutes, both resetting the spawn timer.

Claim Your Reward
Once all eight books are read and the achievement is complete, use the rewarded book to teleport to a room at the top of the Violet Citadel and speak with Archmage Vargoth, who will reward you with the toy. To leave the room, use the book again to teleport back to the bottom of the Violet Citadel.
Replace a Lost Toy
If you delete the toy for any reason, speak with Rhonin in the Violet Citadel to receive a replacement.
Tips
Once you successfully read a book at its location, you do not need to return to that spot again, as each book only spawns in one fixed place.
