The Tainted Waveling is a miniature version of Hydross the Unstable, obtained by looting the 
Tainted Core from Hydross the Unstable in Serpentshrine Cavern.

Enter Serpentshrine Cavern
Travel to Serpentshrine Cavern and make your way to Hydross the Unstable at 36.3, 84.7. This is the first boss of the level 70 Burning Crusade raid, and you can defeat him solo at max level.
Defeat Hydross the Unstable
Defeat Hydross the Unstable at 36.3, 84.7 in Serpentshrine Cavern and loot the Tainted Core from his corpse, then use it to learn the Tainted Waveling pet.
Choose the Best Breed
The Tainted Waveling comes in four breeds — P/B is the strongest choice for a full DoT setup since Power amplifies damage-over-time abilities, while H/B offers extra HP if survivability is a concern; B/B is the weakest option and should be avoided.
Stack DoTs in Battle
In Pet Battles, run Poison Spit, Creeping Ooze, and either Corrosion or Acidic Goo to stack all four DoTs, then swap in another pet to let the damage tick — this is the core strategy for the Tainted Waveling.
Complete Raiding With Leashes II
The Tainted Waveling counts toward the Raiding with Leashes II: Attunement Edition achievement, which rewards the 
Tito's Basket that teaches the pet Tito.
Tips
All four of the Tainted Waveling's DoT abilities deal different damage types, making it useful for bypassing specific damage immunities when building a DoT rotation.
