Pet Battle

From Sixx. This curious moth is sometimes found interrupting the spells of a wandering mage or warlock. Flying type. found one as a backup to a Flamering Moth, so looks like it's not mandatory to catch a Highwind Albatros to capture one.

The Skywisp Moth is a wild Flying battle pet found on the Timeless Isle in Pandaria, notable for its rare combat abilities including Counterspell and a hard-hitting rotation of Reckless Strike and Moth Dust.

Guide awaiting review

1

Reach the Timeless Isle

Fly from the Time Lost Waters fatigue area and use a slow fall effect or glider after being auto-dismounted when zoning into the Timeless Isle. This gets you onto the island without needing to travel by boat.

2

Use a Highwind Albatross

Some Skywisp Moths spawn on top of high rocks and cliffs at around 56.54, 51.66 on the Timeless Isle, which are unreachable on foot. Stand on the outside edge of the Celestial Court and hit a Highwind Albatross with a ranged spell to get it to pick you up. While flying, attack the albatross again when you are over a cliff to make it drop you at your target location.

3

Find and capture the moth

After being dropped onto a cliff where Skywisp Moths are present, engage one in a pet battle and capture it. Expect to complete roughly one to two laps around the island and around 40 kills before finding a capturable moth.

4

Check the Auction House or Sixx

If you prefer an alternative, the Skywisp Moth may be available on the Auction House from other players, or you can visit Sixx at 29.4, 33.4 in The Exodar to check for pet-related stock.

Tips

  • The Skywisp Moth is one of only two Flying pets with Counterspell, and its shorter cooldown compared to similar abilities makes it a strong choice in pet battles against Magic pets.

  • Skywisp Moth deals mechanical damage, making it one of the better Flying pets to use against Beasts, which also deal reduced damage to Flying pets.
