Emerald Whelpling
Source: Drop. Once bred and raised by the green dragon Itharius, this unique breed of dragon has settled in the jungles of Feralas. Dragonkin type. This should be a good choice for battle. Moonlight/Tranquility is a very good combo for healing.

Travel to Feralas
Head to Feralas and locate the area north of the Alliance flight path near Dreamer's Rest, focusing your search around the banks of the lake surrounding Dream Bough island.
Farm Noxious Whelps
Kill Noxious Whelps that spawn along the south-western and north-eastern banks of the lake, as well as the northern-most bank directly north of Dream Bough island, as the Emerald Whelpling can drop from whelps across all these areas.
Prepare for Long Farming
Bring large, empty bags before you begin — players have reported farming sessions ranging from 30–45 minutes up to 7.5 hours and over 1,500 kills before the pet dropped, so bag space fills quickly with 
Tiny Fangs and 
Dragon Femurs which can be used to track your kill count.
Use a Flying Mount
A flying mount is strongly recommended for navigating the lake area efficiently, allowing you to move quickly between the spawn points on the banks without being slowed by water or the drakes on the central island.
Tips
The Emerald Whelpling's Moonlight and Tranquility ability combination provides strong self-healing in pet battles, and Emerald Bite deals increased damage against Flying-type pets, making it an effective counter to Moths.
This pet was used to solo the Whispering Pandaren Spirit pet battle, making it a strong investment beyond collecting.
