Craft Your Soul-Trapping Tools
To capture elemental souls, you need a crafted
Empty Soul Cage and a crafted
Zapthrottle Soul Inhaler. These are profession-crafted items required for the soul-capturing process.
Find Fire Elementals To Trap
Vakthros Summit in Azure Span has several reliable Fire Elemental spawn points for farming Docile Fiery Souls. A solo Fire Elemental sits at 76.92, 40.32 on its own island with no adds, another is at 77.11, 38.0 (wait for the patrolling add to move away), a cluster of Fire Elementals can be pulled one at a time near 77.49, 40.35, and 78.28, 39.18 lets you pull from three nearby Fire Elementals while watching for a scout pat and an earth pat. Coalesced Slagwalkers in the Emerald Dream also work for obtaining Docile Fiery Souls.
Capture The Elemental Soul
Begin casting the Zapthrottle Soul Inhaler on a Fire Elemental while it is dying — the elemental must die while the cast is in progress. Use damage-over-time effects to bring it low, and stuns to prevent the elemental from interrupting your cast. A successful capture produces an Encaged Fiery Soul.
Wait For The Soul To Become Docile
Do not open your Encaged Fiery Soul immediately after capturing it. Wait for the 15-minute timer to expire, at which point the soul changes from Encaged to a Docile Fiery Soul, and only then open it for a chance at the Blaze Spirit pet.
Expect Variable Drop Rates
The Blaze Spirit is not guaranteed from a Docile Fiery Soul — the majority of opens will instead yield a crafting reagent. One player received Blaze Spirit after 9 attempts while another needed 10 opens, so the number of souls required varies widely. If grinding is not preferred, Docile Fiery Souls and the pet itself may be available on the Auction House.
Tips
Players have reported success trapping souls specifically from the Blazing Inferno in Thaldraszus, with one player obtaining Blaze Spirit after 10 Docile Fiery Soul opens from that location.
