Ashstone Core
Drops from Golemagg the Incinerator. The cooled core of Golemagg, it appears to retain some semi-sentient properties. Elemental type. The Ashstone Core is the cooled core of Golemagg that drops as a Rare-quality Elemental battle pet from Golemagg the Incinerator in the classic raid Molten Core, and counts toward the Raiding with Leashes achievement.

Enter Molten Core
Travel to Molten Core and make your way to Golemagg the Incinerator at 68.8, 57.6. Defeat him to have a chance at the Ashstone Core dropping — drop rates are tuned around a group of three players, but the boss can be soloed at max level.
Collect the Ashstone Core
Once Golemagg the Incinerator at 68.8, 57.6 is defeated, loot the Ashstone Core. When added to your Pet Journal it will appear as a Level 1 Elemental battle pet with Rare (blue) quality, starting with 158 Health, 10 Attack, and 12 Speed.
Tips
The Ashstone Core's most practical ability cycle involves using Crystal Overload to amplify damage before triggering Instability, since Crystal Overload doubles your damage output at the cost of self-inflicted damage.
Stoneskin is the most reliable defensive ability in this pet's kit, as it reduces all incoming damage including weather effects and damage-over-time abilities.
