Unlock the Visions Phase
Before the Void-Scarred Locust will appear, you must complete the questline that unlocks the Visions of N'Zoth invasions to Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms introduced in patch 8.3. Without this, none of the 8.3 wild pets will be visible to you.
Head to Uldum's River
Travel to Uldum and search along the river. The Void-Scarred Locust appears in the N'Zoth Assault version of the zone — the assault does not need to be actively ongoing. Begin checking at 55.8, 24 and work your way through 59.6, 28.2, 53.2, 35.6, and 45.6, 30.0.
Battle Along the River
If you cannot find a direct battle with the Void-Scarred Locust, engage any pet battle along the river — Boas, Moths, and Frogs found near 46.6, 38.6 and 55.4, 48.4 often have the Void-Scarred Locust appear as a secondary pet. Also check at 60.6, 57.8 and 53.39, 35.53 for additional spawn locations.
Target and Clear Critters
Create a macro using /tar Void-Scarred Locust to help locate the pet. Any critter versions you encounter should be killed off, as a battle pet will eventually spawn to replace them.
Tips
The Void-Scarred Locust is not cageable, so it cannot be purchased from the Auction House — it must be tamed through a wild pet battle.
