Locate a Stunted Shardhorn
Stunted Shardhorns spawn alongside a parent creature and tend to stay near them. Be aware that these pets frequently spawn inside trees, making them visually difficult to spot.
Target pets inside trees
If a Stunted Shardhorn is stuck inside a tree, use /target Stunted Shardhorn, move up against the tree, and turn your back to it — this helps bypass the 'Battle Area Obstructed' error. Setting an 'Interact with Target' keybind via the Key Bindings menu under Targeting Functions allows you to initiate the battle without needing a clear line of sight.
Capture a rare-quality pet
Stunted Shardhorns have high attack power and a large health pool, but low base speed. Capturing a rare with strong attack weighting is ideal, as pairing it with a speed-boosting ability like Dazzling Dance from another pet makes it exceptionally effective in battle.
Tips
Breed 6 is a noted strong choice for this pet, emphasizing its naturally high attack stat.
Using Smash in conjunction with Trumpet Strike delivers heavy burst damage, and this pet can carry through multiple opponents in a single encounter — making it useful for powerleveling lower-level pets.
