Shadow Sporebat
Source: Pet Battle. Wild sporebats are vicious creatures, but if tamed at a young age, they can be loyal companions. Flying type. I will say that I do not know if killing the non-combat critters will help or not.
The Shadow Sporebat is a wild battle pet from Draenor that can be tamed in the field, based on the lore that sporebats raised young become loyal companions.

Travel to Zangarra
Head to the Zangarra flight path in Draenor and look for Shadow Sporebat spawns at 84.54, 31.5. Spawns appear to be rare and inconsistent, so rather than camping the location, park an alt near the flight path and check in periodically while flying across the ravine.
Try Cross-Realm Switching
If no Shadow Sporebats are visible at 84.54, 31.5, use the custom group finder to switch between different servers. One player found a spawn on their fourth server attempt, so cycling through realms is more reliable than waiting at the same location.
Settle for Any Quality
Once you locate a Shadow Sporebat at 84.54, 31.5, consider catching whichever quality appears rather than holding out for a Rare — using a Battle-Stone to upgrade it afterward is a practical alternative given how infrequently spawns occur.
Tips
Spawns have been observed regardless of in-game weather conditions, and killing nearby critters or mobs has not been confirmed to influence spawn rates.
