Find A Secondary Battle
The Scrapyard Tunneler appears only as a secondary pet in wild battles. Head to at 34.23, 80 in Mechagon where it has been confirmed as a secondary encounter.
Check For Explode Ability
Before attempting to capture it, check the Scrapyard Tunneler's ability bar. If it has the Explode ability listed, forfeit the battle immediately and re-engage until Explode is no longer on the bar — only then is it safe to capture.
Tips
The Scrapyard Tunneler can only be found as a secondary pet, so you must initiate a battle with another wild pet in the area to encounter it.
