Scarlet Proto Avian

This little guy seems like a fairly rare spawn where the Proto Avian critters or Proto Avian Fledgling battle pets spawn.

Choose Your Farming Location
Two areas are known to produce the Scarlet Proto Avian. The Genesis Vestibule at 30, 53 has roughly 4 Avian spawns where you can cycle through battle pets. Alternatively, the area just north of Pilgrim's Grace at 64.6, 46.4, 64, 48.4, and 63.8, 49.6 has Proto Avian Fledglings that can be killed directly rather than battled, which some players find faster.
Clear Placeholder Spawns
At the Genesis Vestibule at 30, 53, engage Proto Avian Fledgling battle pets and defeat only the frontline pet, then flee the battle to reset spawns and avoid wasting time on backline pets. Using a critter-type battle pet as your lead helps counter the stun ability the Avians apply. At the north of Pilgrim's Grace location at 63.8, 49.6, you can kill the non-battle-pet birds directly; a targeting macro using 'proto avian' as the target name speeds this up considerably.
Watch for Despawn Bug
A confirmed issue causes the Scarlet Proto Avian to despawn and be replaced by a Proto Avian Fledgling at the exact moment you attempt to interact with it — verified waypoints at 35.8, 43.8, 37.2, 45.8, 32.2, 52.2, and 41.88, 74.96 are additional spots to patrol. If your minimap shows the green paw icon for the Scarlet Proto Avian but you find a Fledgling instead, this despawn swap is the cause; continue clearing the area and watch for it to reappear.
Capture When It Spawns
Have your capture team ready before you begin clearing, as the Scarlet Proto Avian can appear after only a few rounds of placeholder kills or may take up to 30 minutes or more of cycling spawns at 63.85, 49.52 and nearby locations.
Tips
At the Genesis Vestibule at 30, 53, you only need to defeat the first pet in each battle before fleeing — this resets the spawn without requiring a full battle.
At 63.8, 49.6 north of Pilgrim's Grace, a targeting macro set to 'proto avian' lets you quickly identify and kill placeholder birds across the cluster of spawns.
