Locate Gnollfeaster In Redridge
Head to Gnollfeaster at 24.57, 70.56 in Redridge Mountains, just south of Lakeshire. Gnollfeaster is a vignette mob and will appear as a star on your minimap the first time you can receive the drop.
Defeat Gnollfeaster And Loot
Gnollfeaster scales to your character's level and can be soloed easily. Kill it to loot the
Redridge Tarantula Egg, which has a 100% drop rate on your first kill.
Farm With Alt Characters
Because Gnollfeaster is a vignette mob, each character can only receive the egg once — after your first kill it loses its rare status and the star no longer appears on your minimap. To farm additional copies, use alt characters, including newly created humans who can follow the road east through Northshire and Goldshire into Redridge Mountains. The respawn timer is approximately 6 to 10 minutes between kills.
Trade Via Auction House
The Redridge Tarantula can be caged and is tradeable, so it can also be bought or sold on the Auction House if you prefer not to farm it yourself.
Tips
A Priest alt is particularly effective for the new character farming method, especially once you reach level 8 and gain Power Word: Shield to survive the level 15 mobs in the area around Gnollfeaster.
