Travel to Duskwood
Head to Duskwood and focus your search on the southern part of the zone, where Rat Snakes have their primary spawns. A confirmed cluster location is at 54.3, 58.7 in Duskwood, with snakes appearing within roughly 30 yards of that spot.
Battle Pets as Secondaries
Rat Snakes are sparse and can be difficult to find as a primary pet, so engage any pet battle in the zone — including Mice, Roaches, Black Rats, Skunks, Dusk Spiderlings, Widow Spiderlings, and Chickens — as a Rat Snake can appear as a secondary pet alongside nearly every pet in Duskwood.
Capture a Rare Quality
Rare-quality Rat Snakes can take several hours of battling to find, so work the southern areas around at 54.3, 58.7 in Duskwood and check spawns repeatedly, as the area has been observed to repopulate within roughly 10 minutes.
Tips
Rat Snakes can also appear as a secondary pet to other Rat Snakes, meaning two can show up in a single battle.
