The Nether Faerie Dragon is a wild Dragonkin battle pet found in Kalimdor that can be caught near the uninstanced Dire Maul area in Feralas.

Travel to Feralas
Head to Feralas and look for the Nether Faerie Dragon spawning outside of the Dire Maul area. The pet appears as a nearly translucent blue creature and can be found in rare quality, so be prepared to encounter multiple before finding one.
Choose the right pets
Bring Mechanical or Dragonkin pets to counter this battle, as the Nether Faerie Dragon is a Dragonkin pet itself and its Moonfire ability changes the weather to Moonlight, which boosts its damage by 10% and increases healing effects by 25% — making its Life Exchange ability especially potent.
Overwrite the Moonlight weather
The Nether Faerie Dragon will frequently use Moonfire to trigger Moonlight, so bringing a pet that can overwrite the weather effect is strongly recommended to prevent the extra magic damage and the boosted healing from Life Exchange.
Tips
A pet with an Absorb-type attack that heals for 100% of damage done becomes extremely durable under Moonlight, making it effective for weakening the Nether Faerie Dragon without accidentally killing it before capture.
As of patch 5.1, the Nether Faerie Dragon is classified as Dragonkin rather than Flying, meaning it takes less damage from Flying abilities and more damage from Arcane attacks.
