Source: Pet Battle. When preparing to travel to distant locations, Pandaren will traditionally capture a mirror strider and safely relocate it to another body of water. Aquatic type. The best place to capture these pets is the shore around Pearl Lake in The Jade Forest.

Capture at Pearl Lake
Travel to Pearl Lake in The Jade Forest and battle Mirror Striders along the shore. If you are Horde, be aware that Alliance Pearlfin Poolwatcher and Pearlfin Aqualyte patrols guard the area, including elites, so expect attacks and PvP flagging.
Find as secondary pet
Mirror Striders can also appear as secondary pets when battling Leopard Tree Frogs in The Jade Forest or various serpent hatchlings at The Arboretum. Note that battling hatchlings requires Exalted reputation with the Order of the Cloud Serpent.
