Create a Worgen Character
The Gilnean Raven is only available to Worgen characters. Create a Worgen on any server — a Worgen Death Knight is faster, as it begins at level 55 and skips the full Gilneas introductory zone, requiring only the shorter DK starting quests (levels 55–58) before heading to Stormwind.
Complete the Introductory Scenario
You must complete the Worgen (or Death Knight) introductory scenario before the pet becomes available. The Death Knight starting experience ends with a quest that takes you directly to Stormwind, where the pet battle trainer will have the Gilnean Raven available for purchase. Once learned, the pet is shared account-wide and you may delete the Worgen character afterward.
Tips
Since patch 5.2, newly learned Gilnean Ravens come only in the B/B (3) breed. Ravens with other breeds can occasionally be found on the Auction House from players who obtained them before the change.
The Gilnean Raven has an ability called Nevermore, a nod to Edgar Allan Poe's poem 'The Raven' — matching the pet's description flavor text.
