Guide awaiting review

1

Head to Zul'Gurub Area

Fly to the outdoor (non-instance) area of Zul'Gurub in Northern Stranglethorn Vale. This zone functions as a closed ecosystem where wild pets respawn independently, and only Forest Spiderlings, Lizard Hatchlings, Beetles, and Tree Pythons spawn as primaries — meaning you won't have to wade through Pollys and Strand Crawlers that dominate the rest of the zone.

2

Farm the Mini-Forest Zones

Despite what the map suggests, Forest Spiderlings only spawn commonly in a limited number of spots — specifically the small forested pockets around the zone, such as the forests near the Ogre cave to the east. Because they are linked to all mobs in the zone, fly circuits killing every wild pet you encounter rather than checking only the forests, since clearing non-Forest Spider pets forces Forest Spiderlings to respawn.

3

Check Your Breed Before Releasing

If you end up with two rare Forest Spiderlings, be aware that Wowhead lists only one breed (S/B, Breed #11) for this pet, but players have found their spiderlings matching Breed #8 (P/S) and Breed #5 (S/S) — breeds not officially listed as available. Compare your pet's stats against multiple breeds before releasing either one.

Tips

  • Forest Spiderlings can appear as secondary pets in battles, but they show up as secondaries infrequently — targeting primary spawns is faster overall.
