The Fledgling Kingfeather is a wild pet found atop the Rhut'van Divide in Azsuna, where it shares spawn points with the far more common Fledgling Oliveback and must be farmed by repeatedly clearing those birds.

Guide awaiting review

1

Travel to Azsuna

Begin at the Nor'Danil Wellspring at 39.1, 32.9 in Azsuna. Alternatively, start from the Illidari Stand and run northwest along the road until you reach an area with banshees, then take the path heading up to your right.

2

Climb the Rhut'van Divide

Follow the trail upward to the top of the tallest mountain in Azsuna. Along the way you will pass Grizzly Squirrels, Olivetail Hares, and Fledgling Olivebacks before reaching the summit, which contains a chest and some elite demons.

3

Clear Fledgling Oliveback Spawns

The Fledgling Kingfeather shares all six spawn points with the much more common Fledgling Oliveback and Fledgling Oliveback (critter). Kill every Fledgling Oliveback you find at 42.23, 23.58 — 41.35, 22.87 — 38.4, 24.22 — 41.59, 25.32 — 43.12, 18.96 — and 41.54, 20.92 in Azsuna to force Kingfeather spawns. A useful macro is: /target fledgling olive followed by your damaging ability to quickly locate and kill them. Note that the spawn rate has been increased since the introduction of the Hunting Lesson: Fledgling Kingfeather quest and the Bloodgazer Falcosaur pet quest.

4

Avoid the Far Side Drop

There is a single spawn point at 41.45, 19.07 on the far side of the mountain that can produce an Olivetail Hare or Grizzly Squirrel — do not jump down to reach it, as you will be unable to return to the correct side of the mountain where Fledgling Kingfeathers spawn. If you do need to descend from the summit, glide south using a Rocfeather Skyhorn Kite, Goblin Glider Kit, or Demon Hunter Glide.

5

Battle the Kingfeather Carefully

When a Fledgling Kingfeather finally spawns, engage it carefully in a pet battle — a critical hit can accidentally kill it before you capture it, costing you the spawn entirely.

Tips

  • The Fledgling Kingfeather counts toward the Broken Isles Safari achievement.

  • Fledgling Kingfeathers cannot appear as secondary pets in a battle — you must find one as the primary wild pet to capture it.
