Locate the Rare Elites
The Fel-Spotted Egg drops from three rare elite NPCs on Argus: Sabuul at 44.2, 49.8 in Mac'aree, Naroua at 70.5, 33.7 in Krokuun, and Varga at 64.3, 48.2 in Antoran Wastes. Only one of these egg-dropping rares will be active at any given time, and each operates on a roughly 4-hour window before despawning.
Farm Eggs Without World Quest
You do not need an active world quest to loot a Fel-Spotted Egg from Sabuul, Naroua, or Varga, though days with an associated world quest make farming easier since the rare will respawn throughout the entire duration the world quest is available.
Wait for Egg to Hatch
Once you have a Fel-Spotted Egg, keep it in your bags for 5 days until it becomes a Cracked Fel-Spotted Egg, then open it for a chance at the Fel-Afflicted Skyfin — though it can also yield the Docile Skyfin pet, one of four Mana Ray mounts, or an
Aged Yolk.
Check for Duplicate Pet
The Fel-Afflicted Skyfin is unique and cannot be held in your bags if you already have an unlearned copy — if you receive a 'You can't carry any more of that item' error when looting, check your bags for an unlearned Fel-Afflicted Skyfin and learn or cage it first.
Check Kaara the Pale
Kaara the Pale at 38.7, 55.8 on Argus is also rumored to drop a Fel-Spotted Egg, offering an additional potential source for the Fel-Afflicted Skyfin.
Tips
Once you have learned the Fel-Afflicted Skyfin, you can cage it and trade or sell it to other players.
