The Direbeak Hatchling is a falcosaur battle pet obtained in Stormheim during the Direbeak Swarm! world quest by defeating the Direbeak Matriarch and feeding the orphaned hatchling 
Pungent Vrykul Gamalost.

Wait for World Quest
The Direbeak Swarm! world quest must be active in Stormheim before anything else can be done. The Direbeak Matriarch will not appear unless this quest is currently available.
Grab Pungent Vrykul Gamalost
Before heading to the coast, pick up Pungent Vrykul Gamalost from a vendor such as Lucian Trias. Without this food in your bags, you will not be able to tame the hatchling.
Kill the Direbeak Matriarch
Head to the Direbeak Matriarch at 78.56, 75.64 in Stormheim and defeat her. She is an elite with a respawn timer of around 5 minutes.
Verify the Quest Flag
After killing the Direbeak Matriarch, paste this script into chat: /script print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(44880)). If it returns False, the orphaned hatchling will not yet spawn — wait for the Matriarch to respawn and try again until it returns True.
Follow Path to Gull Rock
Follow the path back towards Greywatch and continue up a small incline toward the stone archway at 77.85, 71.45 in Stormheim. Immediately after passing through the archway, stop and turn right — below you is Gull Rock.
Drop Down to Hatchling
Jump down onto the hill directly below Gull Rock. The Orphaned Direbeak is located on the rock at 79.8, 69.6 in Stormheim. Interact with it and hand over the Pungent Vrykul Gamalost to obtain your Direbeak Hatchling.
Tips
All four falcosaur pets — including the Direbeak Hatchling — begin a quest chain that leads to a mount, requiring multiple daily resets to complete.
