The Diemetradon Hatchling is a wild pet found in Un'Goro Crater that spawns linked to Elder Diemetradons, requiring a specific farming approach to reliably encounter them.

Locate Elder Diemetradons
Travel to Un'Goro Crater and circle the zone checking each Elder Diemetradon for a Hatchling accompanying it. Hatchlings spawn linked to specific Elders, so each Elder has a chance to appear with one.
Mark Elders With Hatchlings
When an Elder Diemetradon has a Hatchling with it, mark that Elder and do not kill it at any point — you can battle the Hatchling pet without harming the Elder.
Kill Childless Elders
Kill all Elder Diemetradons that do not have a Hatchling present. Within roughly five minutes, those Elders will respawn and have a chance to appear with a new Hatchling, steadily increasing the number of available Hatchlings in the zone.
Battle and Capture
With multiple Elders now cycling Hatchling spawns, battle each Hatchling until a rare quality one appears, then capture it.
Tips
Killing any critters or battle pets near the Elder Diemetradons helps reduce interference with Hatchling spawns.
