From Shylenai. Many owls nest high in the stone structures of Darnassus, hunting any pests that enter the night elves' city. Flying type. For some reason, as of 5.1, this pet stopped showing up as caught for Kalimdor Safari, even though i do in fact have one.

Travel to Darnassus
Horde players can access Teldrassil by completing the quest Insertion in Krasarang Wilds, which opens a portal directly to Teldrassil Forest. Alliance players can travel there directly.

Aim for Rare Quality
The Crested Owl is one of the only owl-type pets obtainable in rare quality. It benefits from Predatory Strike, which deals heavy damage and instantly kills opponents at 25% health or below, making it especially effective against water-type pets in Tamer battles.
Tips
Owl-type pets with Predatory Strike can one-shot non-elite water-types and are a strong choice against water-using NPC trainers.
