Clanking Scrapsorter is a wild pet from Battle for Azeroth found in Mechagon, obtainable through pet battles near Rustbolt or as a secondary pet inside Operation: Mechagon.

Guide awaiting review

1

Search Near Rustbolt

Look for Clanking Scrapsorter as a wild pet around the Rustbolt township area of Mechagon — avoid the bay and water side, as pet battles rarely appear there. It can show up as a third pet in a battle, so engage any wild pets you find nearby.

2

Try Operation: Mechagon

Enter Operation: Mechagon solo — no group is required. Clanking Scrapsorter can appear as a secondary pet during battles near the instance entrance. If no pets are visible, leave, right-click your portrait to reset the instance, and re-enter to check again. Alternatively, complete a Heroic run of the Workshop and battle the large number of pets that appear in the city section after finishing.

3

Handle Explode Ability

If the Clanking Scrapsorter you encounter has the Explode ability, retreat from the battle and return to it — its abilities will shuffle, and Explode may be replaced by Omni Pummel, making the capture easier.

4

Check Malfunctioning Beastbot

If you prefer to skip wild pet hunting, visit Malfunctioning Beastbot at 60.8, 42 in Mechagon to see if a purchasable option is available there.

Tips

  • Pets in the city part of Mechagon respawn shortly after being killed, so you can defeat them repeatedly to get a fresh ability setup without resetting the instance.
