Blighthawk

Battle Pet· Wrath of the Lich KingWILDPETUndead type
Pet Battle

Source: Pet Battle. Curiously, this hawk uses its razor-sharp talons to peel the bark off trees as it searches for bugs, even though it has no need for sustenance. Undead type. Had some trouble finding the blighthawks, although I saw the marker on my minimap.

The Blighthawk is a wild pet found in the Eastern Kingdoms that can be captured through standard pet battles or encountered as a secondary pet when fighting other wild pets.

Guide awaiting review

1

Complete Andorhal Quest Chain

Before hunting Blighthawks, finish the quest chain in Andorhal. Without completing it, Blighthawk spawns in the area may be phased out and untargetable, even if their markers appear on your minimap.

2

Head to Andorhal

Travel to Andorhal at 49.3, 66.48 in Western Plaguelands. Blighthawks spawn here and can also appear as a secondary enemy when battling other pets such as squirrels or rats in the surrounding area.

3

Farm Black Rats in Hearthglen

If you want to avoid phasing issues entirely, head north to Hearthglen and battle the Black Rats there. Blighthawks commonly appear as secondary pets alongside Black Rats in that area, making it a reliable and hassle-free alternative.

4

Use Interact With Target Keybind

If you can see a Blighthawk marker on your minimap at 49.3, 66.48 but cannot see or click the pet, open your keybind options and bind a key to 'Interact With Target' under the Targeting Functions section. Stand over the spawn location, type /tar blighthawk in chat, then press your Interact With Target keybind to initiate the pet battle without needing to see the spawn.
