The Blackchasm Crawler is a wild battle pet found inside The Eternal Palace raid during the Battle for Azeroth expansion, spawning as a primary pet in the fountains around the Lady Ashvane encounter.

Enter The Eternal Palace
Queue for The Eternal Palace in Raid Finder mode — specifically the first wing, The Grand Reception. You can solo queue via Kiku at the main inn in Boralus on the Alliance side.
Defeat Lady Ashvane First
Clear through to Lady Ashvane and defeat her before attempting any pet battles. Once Lady Ashvane is dead, you can no longer access the fountain area where the Blackchasm Crawler spawns, so do all your pet hunting after the boss is down but before leaving the area.
Capture the Blackchasm Crawler
The Blackchasm Crawler spawns only as a primary pet in the fountains around the Lady Ashvane area — it has not been observed as a secondary backup pet. All spawns appear as rare quality, so every one you encounter will already be rare. A Northern Hawk Owl using abilities 1, 1, 1 can solo the battle easily.
Tips
If a backup pet in the battle is rare, consider capturing it anyway, since the next Blackchasm Crawler you find will also be rare, giving you a free rare secondary.
