Unlock Zul'jarra's Forces
Complete the Patch 12.1 opening campaign through What Lies Beyond the Fog and meet Zul'jarra's army on the Coiled Isle. Confirm Zul'jarra's Forces appears as a renown track before farming.
Front-load one-time reputation
Complete the campaign, first kills of the twelve Coiled Isle rares, the 22 treasure achievement, and the ten Student of Hissstory lore objects. First rare kills award 50 reputation each, treasures 50 each, and lore objects 250 each, making these efficient before repeatable activities.
Farm repeatable renown
Continue with weekly and daily Coiled Isle activities, Curse Surges, and the Vaults patrol/strike/incursion cycle until Zul'jarra's Forces reaches Renown 19. Claim each renown rank so the vendor unlock flag updates.
Save 8,000 Voidlight Marl
Accumulate Voidlight Marl from Patch 12.1 activities and avoid spending below 8,000 before the purchase. This currency is separate from Corrosive Coin, Coiled Filament, and Remnant of Anguish.
Buy from Jan'sari
Go to Jan'sari the Watchful at 58.8, 46.0 on Coiled Isle map 2512. Open the Renown Quartermaster inventory and purchase Violet-Backed Skyfang after both Renown 19 and 8,000 Voidlight Marl requirements are satisfied.
