Obtain From Horos
Locate Horos and obtain the Starlight Beacon through the quest 'A Beacon of Hope'.
Place Multiple Beacon Points
Use the Starlight Beacon item multiple times in different locations to draw out the boundaries of your flying area — you must place several points to define the region.
Let the Buff Expire
Once the buff expires, the starfield is drawn and you can fly freely within it. Using the item this way triggers a 15-minute cooldown before it can be activated again.
Use for Kirin Tor Quests
The Starlight Beacon is particularly effective for Kirin Tor world quests that require traveling through bubbles — on the Suramar version, drawing a square under the orb beneath the bridge lets you fly straight up to click it.
Tips
Queuing for Drowned Mana fishing in Dalaran and placing the starfield under the whole group causes widespread confusion, as other players have no idea what is happening.
The Starlight Beacon can also be used to reach elevated areas or escape spots where your character would otherwise be stuck.
