Reach Tier 5
Progress through the Korthia relics questline with Archivist Roh-Suir to reach Tier 5. A quest is automatically given upon reaching Tier 5 that awards the Shadow Slicing Shortsword.
Use Near a Player
You must be within melee range of another player to use the sword. If no player is selected, the sword targets your own shadow instead.
Match War Mode Status
Your War Mode setting must match your target's — if you are War Mode off and your target is War Mode on, the sword will not work on them.
Observe the Shadow Clone
When successfully used, a shadowy clone of the target player spawns, laughs, and runs away for a few seconds before fading away.
Tips
Using the sword on a mounted player or a Night Fae player in Soulshape will do nothing but still triggers the cooldown.
The target must be a player — it does not work on pets, battle pets, or NPCs.
A 5-minute debuff is applied to the target that prevents another sword from severing their shadow.
