The Emerald Winds is a Legion toy dropped from the Hatchling of the Talon achievement, earned by collecting 10 Emerald Orbs in a single session of Aviana's challenge in Sylvan Falls, Highmountain.

Guide awaiting review

1

Travel to Sylvan Falls

Head to Sylvan Falls in Highmountain and speak with Aviana at 32.3, 66.7 in Highmountain. The closest flight point is Sylvan Falls.

2

Dismount Before Starting

Dismount before engaging Aviana's challenge — starting the jump while mounted will cause you to fall badly.

3

Collect 10 Emerald Orbs

After your initial jump, do not turn — glide straight toward the first orb. For the remaining orbs, use a camera angle that splits the difference between a vertical and horizontal view. If you miss the first one or two orbs, there is space behind the starting NPC to land and try again.

4

Receive Toy in Mail

Once the Hatchling of the Talon achievement pops, check your in-game mailbox for a letter from Skylord Omnuron — the Emerald Winds toy is mailed to you and is not automatically added to your toybox or inventory.

5

Use the Emerald Winds Toy

Using Emerald Winds grants you the Dream spell and the Emerald Winds buff for 2 minutes. Spam the Dream spell to launch yourself upward repeatedly — it functions similarly to Rocket Jump but with a 3-second cooldown. Use the macro /click ExtraActionButton1 or bind ExtraActionButton1 in the keybinding menu to activate it quickly. The toy cannot be used in combat.

6

Extend Airtime with Gliders

Pair Emerald Winds with a Goblin Glider Kit or your class Glide ability between Dream spell casts to stay airborne longer and actually gain altitude over time.

Tips

  • After each Dream spell cast, immediately activate a glide effect to chain upward momentum between the 3-second cooldowns.
