Collect 1000 Unique Pets
Earn the Master of Minions achievement by collecting 1000 unique battle pets. Once the achievement is completed, Hearthy will be awarded automatically.
Learn Hearthy's Hearthstone Trick
When summoned, Hearthy plays the 
Hearthstone use effect animation. Clicking on Hearthy will activate your Hearthstone cast — however, if your Hearthstone is on cooldown, clicking Hearthy does nothing. Only you can trigger this effect; other players, including groupmates, cannot activate your Hearthstone by clicking your Hearthy.
Try the Magic Pet Mirror Trick
Use a 
Magic Pet Mirror to transform yourself into Hearthy, then use a class ability that draws out your weapons — pressing Z alone will not work. The specific ability varies by class: Death Knights can use Wraith Walk, while Rogues can use Distract. Avoid attacking any enemies, as this will dispel the Magic Pet Mirror effect.
Tips
The /rub emote on Hearthy is intended to trigger the Hearthstone cast ability, so experiment with emotes if clicking alone does not suit your playstyle.
