Mischievous spriggans and the valerunners have a natural enmity. No valerunner would deign to allow a spriggan rider because they can sense their inherent malevolence. This angers the trickster spriggans who take twisted enjoyment in playing cruel pranks on these majestic creatures.

Acquisition Guide

The Shimmermist Runner is obtained by defeating the rare mob Shizgher in the maze of Mistveil Tangle in Ardenweald, then clicking the untargetable NPC Shimmermist Runner near the Tamed Gladerunner treasure at 26.35, 59.

Read the Maze Scroll

Head to Mistveil Tangle west of Root-home, exiting Root-home north past the flight master. A scroll hanging from a tree at 32.46, 52.98 explains how to navigate the maze — reading it is optional but helpful.

Enter the Maze

Enter the maze in Oaken Assembly at 31.04, 54.51. This is Gate 1 — go straight through.

Navigate Gate 2

Proceed to Gate 2 at 29.6, 56.1 and go left. At each gateway, follow the passages lit with blue lamps — avoid any passages showing red lamps.

Navigate Gates 3 Through 7

Continue through the maze in this order: Gate 3 at 29.9, 57.7 go right, Gate 4 at 29.4, 58.5 go left, Gate 5 at 29, 58.9 go right, Gate 6 at 28.2, 58.1 take the third gate from the left, then Gate 7 at 27.1, 58.2 take the second gate from the left.

Defeat Shizgher

After completing the correct path through all seven gates, Shizgher will appear — defeat him to free the Shimmermist Runner. Shizgher respawns within a couple of minutes if needed.

Click the Shimmermist Runner

After Shizgher is defeated, click the untargetable NPC Shimmermist Runner near the Tamed Gladerunner treasure at 26.35, 59 to obtain the mount.
