Acquisition Guide

The Junkheap Drifter is a mount obtained from Rusted Keys to the Junkheap Drifter, which drops from Rustfeather, a rare spawn located in Mechagon.

1

Travel to Rustfeather

Head to Mechagon and find Rustfeather at 65, 77.4. This rare has a spawn timer of approximately 40 to 70 minutes.

2

Kill Rustfeather Daily

Defeat Rustfeather at 65, 77.4 in Mechagon. Rustfeather only awards loot once per day, so return each daily reset to maximize attempts.

3

Track Your Daily Kill

To check whether you have already looted Rustfeather today, run this macro: /run for k,v in pairs({Rustfeather=55811}) do print(format("%s: %s", k, C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(v) and "Completed" or "Not Completed")) end

Tips

  • The drop rate based on recorded attempts is roughly 0.08% to 0.5%, with confirmed drops ranging from 200 to 1,262 kills.

  • Rustfeather can drop Rusted Keys to the Junkheap Drifter even on characters below level 120, as confirmed by a drop on a level 110 character.

  • Farming Rustfeather across multiple realms via the Group Finder can reduce downtime between spawns, given the 40 to 70 minute respawn window.
