Goldplate Bufonid

This armored bufonid is always ready to leap into battle... as long as that battle is really, really close. In a pinch, it can leap multiple times and eventually reach the battle.

Acquisition Guide

TomTom waypoints(8)

The Goldplate Bufonid is a Protoform Synthesis mount crafted in Zereth Mortis after obtaining its schematic from Accelerated Bufonid mobs and gathering three required reagents.

1

Unlock Protoform Synthesis

Complete the first three chapters of the Secrets of the First Ones campaign, then research at the cypher console in Exile's Hollow at 34.49, 49.7. Complete the questline starting with Finding Tahli, and the following day a new quest becomes available that leads to unlocking the Protoform Synthesis mount forge.

2

Farm Schematic from Accelerated Bufonid

Kill Accelerated Bufonid mobs to obtain the Schematic: Goldplate Bufonid, with a drop chance estimated around 3%. The best farming spots are near the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid entrance island — find Accelerated Bufonid at 49.8, 72.4, with additional spawn locations at 51.6, 74.2, 51.07, 74.73, 80.6, 47.6, 79.43, 45.46, and 80.03, 56.47.

3

Collect the Three Reagents

Gather 400 Genesis Motes by killing mobs throughout Zereth Mortis, collect 1 Bufonid Lattice by killing Bufonid mobs or purchasing it from the Auction House, and pick up 1 Bauble of Pure Innovation inside Exile's Hollow at 34.49, 49.7 — it is found on a dog bed to the left of Firim.

4

Craft at the Synthesis Forge

Bring the Schematic: Goldplate Bufonid and all three reagents to the Protoform Synthesis Forge at 61.2, 58.9 in Zereth Mortis to craft your Goldplate Bufonid mount.

Tips

  • Bufonid Lattice can be purchased from the Auction House if you prefer not to farm it from Bufonid mobs in Zereth Mortis.
