Acquisition Guide

TomTom waypoints(3)

The Desertwing Hunter is a Protoform Synthesis mount crafted in Zereth Mortis after locating its schematic in the Plain of Actualization and gathering three specific resources.

1

Unlock Protoform Synthesis Forge

Complete the first three chapters of the Secrets of the First Ones campaign, then research at the Cypher Console in Exile's Hollow. Complete the questline starting from Finding Tahli, then the following day complete The Lost Component quest chain to fully unlock the Protoform Synthesis forge.

2

Grab the Schematic

Head to the Plain of Actualization in Zereth Mortis and find the tall pillar near the daily quest mob platform at 62.05, 43.51. The Schematic: Desertwing Hunter sits at the top — you will need flight unlocked in Zereth Mortis, or an ability such as Door of Shadows, Heroic Leap, or a Warlock Gate to reach it.

3

Turn In the Schematic

Deliver the Schematic: Desertwing Hunter to the Protoform Repository forge at 59.74, 45.57 to learn how to craft the Desertwing Hunter mount.

4

Farm the Three Materials

Gather the following resources across Zereth Mortis at 70, 28.6: 400 Genesis Mote from most mobs throughout the zone, 1 Wind's Infinite Call from avian mobs such as Enhanced Avians, and 1 Raptora Lattice from Raptora mobs such as Garudeon or Tahkwitz — the Raptora Lattice is also available on the Auction House.

5

Craft Desertwing Hunter

Return to the Protoform Repository with all three materials and craft your Desertwing Hunter mount.
