Loot the Winter Veil Gift
On December 25th, loot the Winter Veil Gift found under the tree during the Winter Veil event. The Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller will appear directly in your bags, and looting it awards an achievement.
Summon Your Flyer
Use the Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller to summon and take control of a small plane. Press 1 to shoot, 2 for a speed boost, and Spacebar to fly upward.
Shoot Down Other Flyers
While controlling your flyer, shoot down other players' Crashin' Thrashin' Flyers to work toward the achievement The Danger Zone. The fire button uses AoE targeting, and it takes several shots to bring down an enemy flyer.
Mind the Range and Timer
The flyer has a 5-minute time limit and a range of approximately 40 yards from your character. If your flyer travels too far, the buff fades and you are stunned for 3 seconds — this is not the same as being shot down by another player.
Tips
The Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller can be used while in stealth without breaking stealth on cast, though it may occasionally trigger a combat state.
You will be stunned for 3 seconds whenever control of the flyer ends, whether from the timer expiring, flying out of range, being shot down, or manually cancelling the effect.
