The Scale of the Sands
The Burning Crusade faction.
The Scale of the Sands is a Burning Crusade reputation tied to the Mount Hyjal raid, earned by defeating waves of enemies inside the instance, with rewards available from Indormi in Hyjal Summit.
Queue for Legacy LFR
Queue for any legacy LFR using the NPC in your Garrison or the one in Legion Dalaran, then once inside, click the green eye on the minimap and teleport out of the instance.
Travel to Mount Hyjal
Make your way to the Caverns of Time and enter Mount Hyjal — there is a portal to the Caverns of Time in Orgrimmar in the room underneath the regular portal room.
Farm the First 8 Waves
Talk to Jaina and clear waves 2 through 8, walking all the way to the spawn point of each wave to kill them instantly rather than waiting for them to walk to the camp; each full set of waves yields approximately 1, 000–1,305 reputation.
Reset Without Triggering Boss
Once the 8 waves are cleared and the first boss is about to spawn, click the green eye on the minimap and re-enter the legacy LFR queue to teleport out before engaging Rage Winterchill, then teleport back out and repeat the wave clear.
Continue After Full Clear
If you choose to complete all 16 waves and both the Horde and Alliance camp bosses, additional waves will continue to spawn in larger numbers — stay in the area and destroy all remaining mobs to trigger further spawns and additional reputation gains.
Tips
As of patch 2.4, Scale of the Sands reputation is awarded at a significantly higher rate inside Hyjal Summit.
Using a
Battle Standard of Coordination or 
Battle Standard of Coordination along with the guild perk Mr. Popularity can increase reputation per run.Repeating the wave-clear reset loop approximately 33 times starting from 0/3000 Neutral can bring you to Exalted in a single session of around 6.5 hours.
