Conjurer Margoss is a Legion fishing reputation NPC located on a floating island called Margoss' Retreat near Dalaran, where you fish up Drowned Mana to turn in for reputation and purchase rewards including a mount, pets, and toys.

1

Reach Margoss' Retreat

Margoss' Retreat is a small floating island northwest of Dalaran, behind the Tournament Announcer. Make your way there to access the pool of water used for fishing Drowned Mana.

2

Fish for Drowned Mana

Fish from the pool on Margoss' Retreat to collect Drowned Mana. Your fishing skill can be anywhere from 1 to 800 to fish here, though catch rates without a boost are low. Your bag can hold a maximum stack of 100 Drowned Mana at a time, so spend them before hitting the cap.

3

Summon and Kill Aquaos

While fishing you have a chance to catch a Mark of Aquaos. Throw it into the water to summon Aquaos the Unleashed, kill him, and receive a boost that raises your Drowned Mana catch rate to 100%, yielding 1 to 2 per cast.

4

Use Group Finder for Chains

Join a group on the Group Finder for Margoss' Retreat fishing sessions. More players means more Mark of Aquaos are fished up, allowing back-to-back Aquaos summons and dramatically increasing your Drowned Mana acquisition rate.

5

Turn In Mana for Reputation

Visit Conjurer Margoss at 44.6, 62.0 in the Dalaran Sewers to turn in your Drowned Mana for reputation. Use the macro /script SelectGossipOption(4, true) to turn in {icon:drowned_mana} 1 Drowned Mana at a time, or /script SelectGossipOption(5, true) to turn in 10 at once. Reaching Best Friend from Stranger takes approximately 5 hours of active farming.

6

Apply Reputation Buffs

Equip the Darkmoon Top Hat while the Darkmoon Faire is active to gain a 10% reputation bonus, reducing the total Drowned Mana needed to reach Best Friend. You can calculate your exact remaining Drowned Mana needed using the in-game macro: /run local _, fR, fM, fN, _, _, _, fT, nT = GetFriendshipReputation(1975) print("Current rep "..fN..": "..fR.."/"..fM) print("Next Level: "..nT-fR) print(("Best Friend: %d mana"):format((fM-fR)/50)) print(("10%s Rep Buff: %d mana"):format("%",(fM-fR)/55)).

7

Purchase Rewards from Margoss

Once you have enough reputation with Conjurer Margoss, return to him at 44.6, 62.0 in the Dalaran Sewers to purchase rewards including a mount, toys, and pets using your accumulated Drowned Mana.

Tips

  • Joining Group Finder sessions on Margoss' Retreat lets groups chain Mark of Aquaos summons back-to-back, making this the fastest way to farm Drowned Mana.

  • Activating the Darkmoon Top Hat during the Darkmoon Faire grants a 10% reputation bonus, lowering the total Drowned Mana required to reach Best Friend.
