Alliance Vanguard
Wrath of the Lich King faction.
Alliance Vanguard is a meta-faction in Wrath of the Lich King that accumulates reputation passively from the four subfactions: Valiance Expedition, Explorer's League, The Frostborn, and The Silver Covenant.
Run Heroic WotLK Dungeons
Run any Heroic Wrath of the Lich King dungeon without a championing tabard equipped to earn Alliance Vanguard reputation. Removing any equipped tabard is required — wearing one redirects all reputation gains to that tabard's faction instead of Alliance Vanguard.
Farm Pit of Saron Trash
Enter Heroic Pit of Saron and clear only the trash mobs around the large crater near the entrance — do not kill any bosses. This awards approximately 1, 130 reputation in about five minutes, and resetting the instance repeatedly yields roughly 11,000 reputation per hour.
Complete Daily Quests
Daily quests that grant Alliance Vanguard reputation award 125 reputation per completion for non-Human races, or 137–138 for Human characters, and completing them each day yields roughly 5% progress through Revered, with approximately two weeks of dailies needed to reach Exalted from Revered.
Finish All Zone Quests
Completing all non-repeatable quests across Borean Tundra, Howling Fjord, Grizzly Hills, Dragonblight, Icecrown, and The Storm Peaks brings you to approximately 10, 120 into Revered, leaving around 10, 880 reputation remaining to reach Exalted.
Purchase Mekgineer's Chopper Schematic
Reaching Exalted with Alliance Vanguard unlocks the ability to purchase the 
Schematic: Mekgineer's Chopper, which is a primary reason higher-level characters farm this reputation.
Tips
Resetting Heroic Pit of Saron instances and clearing only the entrance crater trash repeatedly is the fastest method, averaging around 11, 000 reputation per hour.
Running a variety of Heroic WotLK dungeons instead of only Pit of Saron is slower overall but still allows reaching Exalted from Friendly in approximately 3 hours in a single session.
