The Writhing Brood

Complete the Coiled Isle introduction and reach level 90. Find Altar of Fangs on the island and use Mythic difficulty after Season 2 opens; the dungeon has three bosses: Rav'i, The Writhing Coil, and Zul'jan.

For a base Mythic attempt, set Dungeon Difficulty to Mythic before entering and confirm the instance banner. For repeatable keystone attempts, join or run an Altar of Fangs Mythic+ key during Season 2. Normal and Heroic are not listed by the current reward overview; only use them if the live Adventure Guide later adds the mount to their Zul'jan loot table.

Defeat Rav'i and The Writhing Coil, then clear the remaining trash to Zul'jan. The mount does not come from The Writhing Coil despite the similar model and name; the source field identifies Zul'jan.

Complete the final encounter and remain until its reward container is available. On base Mythic, open Zul'jan's Strongbox at the end of the dungeon; on Mythic+, open the completed-keystone chest. Ensure the character is loot-eligible and inspect the container before leaving the instance.

Base Mythic is on a daily lockout during Midnight Season 2, so the same character can make another M0 attempt after the daily reset; alts add more daily attempts. Mythic+ keys provide the repeatable route. No official drop percentage or bad-luck protection is published, so no number of runs is guaranteed.

Use the item and verify The Writhing Brood in Collections. It is the ground mount made of three intertwined serpents; Ruby Writhe and Indigo Coiled Horror are different writhe-family mounts.
