Acquisition Guide

The Stonehide Elderhorn is a Battle for Azeroth mount that drops from Island Expedition end-of-run reward chests, with the highest chance coming from any rare or epic quality salvage box.

1

Run Island Expeditions Weekly

Complete Island Expeditions each week to earn end-of-run reward chests. Mythic difficulty runs, such as those on Jorundall where Elderhorn mobs appear frequently, are worth prioritizing.

2

Buy Crestfall Salvage Boxes

Visit Captain Kitt (Horde) or Captain Nightrunner (Alliance) near the Island Expedition Map Table — each sells salvage boxes for 175 Seafarer's Dubloons each, with up to 3 available per week. The Crestfall Salvage box is confirmed to contain the Stonehide Elderhorn.

3

Open Rare or Epic Salvage

The Stonehide Elderhorn can also be found in any rare or epic quality salvage box, so open all such boxes you accumulate across Island Expedition runs.

Tips

  • One player recorded obtaining the Stonehide Elderhorn after approximately 2,757 single-account Island Expedition attempts, making it one of the rarer drops in the pool.
