Acquisition Guide

The Nazjatar Blood Serpent is obtained by collecting 20 Abyssal Fragments, combining them at the Altar of the Abyss in Stormsong Valley, then using the resulting item at a second altar inside Saltstone Mine to summon and defeat Adherent of the Abyss.

Collect 20 Abyssal Fragments

Abyssal Fragments are world drops and are not bind on pickup, so you can purchase them from the Auction House in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, or Valdrakken. You need exactly 20 to proceed.

Combine Fragments at the Altar

Fly to the cave behind the waterfall at 73.58, 23.4 in Stormsong Valley. Head to the back of the cave and use the Abyssal Fragments at the Altar of the Abyss to combine them into an Abhorrent Essence of the Abyss — be aware this deals approximately 5, 000 damage to you when used.

Enter Saltstone Mine

Fly to the entrance of Saltstone Mine at 46.71, 36.31 in Stormsong Valley. Head inside and navigate to the second left, then drop down behind the quest orc — the summoning stone will be on your left at 59.36, 54.21.

Offer Essence at the Abyssal Flame

Make your way deeper into the mine to the Abyssal Flame altar at 58.62, 54.68 and use the Abhorrent Essence of the Abyss there to summon Adherent of the Abyss, who is also located at 51.8, 53.4 inside Saltstone Mine.

Defeat Adherent of the Abyss

Defeat the summoned Adherent of the Abyss to receive the Nazjatar Blood Serpent mount. Only the player who performed the summoning receives the mount as a drop. Note that the mount does not appear in the in-game mount panel.
