Curious Crystalsniffer
Most vombata enjoy tunneling through the ground, but these sniffers seem to have an unerring ability to locate crystals buried deep underground and will congregate around large deposits.
Acquisition Guide
The Curious Crystalsniffer is a mount crafted via Protoform Synthesis in Zereth Mortis, with its schematic found in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid after defeating Halondrus.
Enter Sepulcher, Defeat Halondrus
Enter the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid and defeat the Halondrus boss. The schematic does not appear until the boss is dead.
Return to Second Phase Room
After Halondrus dies, run back to the second phase room. In the north part of that room, look for a large Zereth Mortis-style ball that is half-buried in the ground.
Loot the Schematic
On the left side of that ball (when facing north), about 10 yards away, there is a plant — the Protoform Schematic for the Curious Crystalsniffer is on the ground right next to it. Loot it promptly, as there is a reported 10–15 minute window after the boss dies before the schematic becomes unavailable.
Craft the Mount
Use the schematic with Protoform Synthesis in Zereth Mortis to craft the Curious Crystalsniffer mount.
Tips
This schematic can drop in LFR difficulty, so you are not required to run a higher difficulty.
If the raid is reset after killing Halondrus, the walls separating the boss rooms go back up, making the schematic unreachable for that lockout — see the video guide for a visual walkthrough: https://youtu.be/qRxw26AwitI
