Crimson Shardhide
When Korthia was pulled into The Maw, only a few hardy species survived.
Acquisition Guide
The Crimson Shardhide is a mount that drops from Malbog, a rare spawn in Korthia introduced in Shadowlands patch 9.1 Chains of Domination.
Travel to Keeper's Respite
Begin at Keeper's Respite in Korthia and head to Caretaker Kah-Kay at 60.66, 23.2. If the rare event is active, he will be marked with a rare spawn star on your minimap.
Start the Event Dialogue
Speak with Caretaker Kah-Kay at 60.66, 23.2. He will explain that a large shardhide has been preying on the animals of his stable and ask you to track it down.
Follow the Purple Footsteps
After the dialogue, follow the purple footsteps that appear as you run the path through Korthia, leading up to 44.27, 29.51. Note that you do not need the event active or the event pet with you — simply walking the same path is enough to spawn Malbog.
Defeat Malbog
Malbog will spawn at the end of the tracked path near 45.35, 30.34. Defeat him for a chance at the Crimson Shardhide mount. This rare can be killed once per day per character, and the mount has approximately a 2% drop rate.
Tips
If the Fleshy Remains do not spawn correctly on the path, run the path again — this is a known inconsistency that resolves on a second attempt.
You can kill Malbog without interacting with the event at all, as long as you follow the same path to trigger his spawn.
The Crimson Shardhide is one of 8 daily-farmable mounts added in patch 9.1, so each character on your account can attempt one kill per day. See video guide for a full walkthrough of the path.
