The Bound Shadehound is a mount obtained by completing a questline in The Maw that involves taming and bonding with a Shadehound.
Meet Prerequisites First
Before starting, reach Appreciated reputation with Ve'nari, have 3,500 Stygia on hand, and learn the 
Animated Levitating Chain. Having the 
Assassin's Soulcloak active via Words of Warding is also helpful for this questline.
Purchase the Stygia Dowser
Buy the 
Stygia Dowser from Ve'nari for 1, 500 Stygia. This item tracks Stygia Nexus nodes on your minimap the same way herb and mining deposits appear, and the nodes respawn roughly every 15 minutes.
Farm Stygia Nodes in The Maw
Use the Stygia Dowser to track and collect 
Stygia Dust and 
Stygia Sliver from Stygia Nexus nodes. Verified node locations in The Maw include at 27.92, 60.49, at 28.38, 45.46, at 16.87, 55.04, at 16.01, 51.7, at 19.24, 34.29, at 25.63, 31.08, at 22.95, 22.20, at 33.1, 20.66, at 38.7, 19.43, at 37.54, 43.69, at 41.19, 49.45, at 41.31, 47.86, and at 33.15, 64.81. Note that nodes are not shared between players, so expect competition. Budget approximately 8–10 hours for this farming phase.
Solve the Rune Puzzle
Head to Domination Keep in Perdition Hold at 23.0, 68.4 and grapple up one level. Turn left and climb the stairs to a second grapple hook at 24.0, 75.5. Use your extra action button to activate the Rune Puzzle and match the runes above the chest to the runes on the spikes — Spike #1 is to your left as you grapple up and the sequence goes clockwise. Solving this rewards the 
Crumbling Stele. You have a limited number of attempts before being locked out for two hours.
Locate the Stray Soul
After obtaining the Crumbling Stele and the 
Intact Rune Codex, look for the Stray Soul in The Maw. It appears on the minimap using the same icon as souls from the Return Lost Souls weekly covenant quest. Check near the Colossus area at 23.0, 67.0 and surrounding locations at 32.58, 64.94, at 26.34, 68.62, at 21.65, 66.84, and at 29.67, 65.52.
Complete the Binding Ritual
After locating the Stray Soul and gathering all required materials, proceed to the binding ritual area near at 22.16, 71.07 along the wall on the same level you walked to reach the puzzle chest grapple, then continue to at 22.24, 70.79 above that point. The final binding area is near at 20.0, 68.0, accessible via the portal room below. Completing the ritual rewards the Bound Shadehound mount.
Tips
If you are locked out of the Rune Puzzle for two hours after failed attempts, use that time to farm Stygia and work toward the Return Lost Souls weekly quest.
The
Bound Shadehound can only be used in The Maw.
