Acquisition Guide
The Vicious Black Bonesteed is a BFA Season 2 PVP mount earned by filling a progress bar to 100% through rated wins above 1400 rating, then purchased from Deathguard Netharian in Orgrimmar.
Reach 1400 Rated PVP
You must reach at least 1400 rating in a rated PVP bracket — 2v2, 3v3, or Rated Battlegrounds — before wins in that bracket count toward the mount. Each bracket is tracked separately, so a 1430 rating in 2v2 does not allow 3v3 wins to count until that bracket also reaches 1400.
Fill Progress Bar to 100%
Progress is account-wide and shared across all rated brackets. Use the in-game macro to track exactly how many wins remain: for Horde, open chat and run /run local criteriaString, criteriaType, completed, quantity, reqQuantity, charName, flags, assetID, quantityString = GetAchievementCriteriaInfo(13228, 1); print('Progress:' ,quantity,' out of ',reqQuantity) to see your current progress.
Collect Mount from Collections
Once you reach 100% progress, the Vicious Black Bonesteed is automatically added to your mount collections tab — you do not receive a physical item and there is no saddle included with this reward.
Visit Deathguard Netharian
After earning the mount, you can find Deathguard Netharian at 41.8, 73.0 in Orgrimmar if you wish to work toward a saddle, which requires an additional 34 Rated Battleground wins above 1400 rating and allows you to choose a replacement mount.
Tips
As of patch 8.1.5, the flames on this mount's feet are purple rather than the original green.
